Marquette Tribune Will Now Accept An Anti-abortion Ad

From Wisconsin Right to Life, a press release saying that the Marquette Tribune will now accept an anti-abortion ad.

This comes in the wake of their refusal to accept an anti-abortion insert.

The official Marquette “student” paper failed to provide a coherent explanation for that decision.

Developing . . .

So it will accept an ad from one pro-life organization and not the other? Sounds like someone has a chip on their shoulder to me!

Anony has the key.

The American Life League is not the same as the (more politically correct) Right-to-Life organization.

The Archbishop of Milwaukee is involved with RTL, but not the local ALL affiliate, Pro-Life Wisconsin.

BIG difference.

In light of this, would both The Warrior and The Marquette Tribune also agree to simultaneoulsy include Pro-choice pamphlet/inserts?

As a former journalism major, I am disappointed that EITHER paper would include such an insert. I don't think that an anti-abortion OR pro-choice insert like that should run, but if these papers are going to include arguemnt x's pamphlet, please also include y's.

Ugh, campus (and national) media.

The distinction that both previous anonymous posters miss is that Marquette University claims to be a Catholic University. As such, the school is bound by (sic) Ex Corde Ecclesia. Catholic Morality is in essence Truth and must be upheld. Thus, Marquette would violate Ex Corde Ecclesia to give equal time to a pro-abortion organization. That being said, the majority of Catholic University have sadly, decided to ignore the Church and its Teachings on the issue.
