No Gold -- But Still More Arrogance

From Sykes Writes, a succinct description of what happened with the Board of Trustees today:

The good news: the MU Board of Trustees made the right choice, admitted they screwed up, and bailed on the Gold. (Shortest nickname....EVER.)

The bad news: they still refuse to consider the Warriors, will not include the Warriors on their new ballot and won't even count Warriors if it is written in.

Translation: We listen, but not too much.

We care what you think, up to a point.

We will let you make the choice, but not the choice the overwhelming majority of you want.

And worst of all: We realize we made a mistake, but can’t admit the real mistake was dropping the Warriors.

In other words: MU has cut its losses, but hasn’t put an end to the controversy by a long shot.
