Punishing Dental School Student Blogger: Chilling Effect

We posted yesterday about punishment that the Marquette Dental School meted out to a student blogger who made some ill-considered (but certainly not grossly immoral or illegal or unprofessional) remarks on his blog.

This past Thursday, while sitting in a Dental School waiting room, poised to testify on the student’s behalf, we overheard two other Dental School students talking.

One said he had had a blog, but when the issue of the student blog arose, he deleted all the posts. He just wasn’t willing to risk getting into trouble, he said.
