Eugene Kane: Blacks Won’t Take Jobs That Mexicans Will

A great catch by Ask Me Later, on how Milwaukee’s local race-hustling columnist chided Mexican President Vicente Fox for saying that American blacks won’t take low paying menial jobs (while Mexicans supposedly will).

What did Kane do almost a year later? He said almost the same thing.

There is competition for jobs, but frankly I don’t see many African-Americans willing to volunteer for the kind of low-paying agricultural work many Hispanic immigrants regularly perform.

Is this a matter of “I’ll argue whatever is convenient in the current context?”
