Death Penalty Debate / 4th Street Forum Tonight

10:00 p.m. on Channel 10 in Milwaukee, as part of the 4th Street Forum series, we and three other advocates debate the death penalty.

The show was actually taped yesterday at noon.

The entire panel:

JENNIFER BIAS, deputy director, Trial Division, Office of the Wisconsin State Public Defender

KEITH FINDLEY, co-director, Wisconsin Innocence Project, UW-Madison Law School

JOHN McADAMS, associate professor, Political Science, Marquette University

MICHAEL NIESKES, Racine County district attorney

The folks at the 4th Street Forum are to be commended for putting on a balanced forum. We and Nieskes defended capital punishment, and the other two panelists opposed it.

The audience at the 4th Street Forum leans strongly liberal, but that simply has the effect of giving us and Nieskes more time to rebut the standard arguments.
