Good analysis John.
I think this is trickle down economics in reverse. Not only do our poor get poorer, but the suffering internationally will increase exponentially.
Remember the feudal system, assuming we're still teaching history. A class of royalty and nobility with all the power and wealth, and a lowly peasant class forced to toil for the royalty/nobility class and thrown a few scraps. That's the Green Utopia.

I'm still driving my cars. I'm not going to stop. I've decided that I'll just "hope" for the poor folks who can't afford gas now.
