People who care about the environment are akin to the Taliban? They let you teach courses? Someone gave you an advanced degree?
I'd say this professor is one of the last reasoning academics with the courage to speak his mind in an area where it is not a 'cool' thing to do.
Thank God he still teaches.
The comment is not about equating those that "care about the environment with the Taliban." Professor McAdams' post was about comparing the Taliban with environmentalists that would violently eliminate those with whom they disagree...as illustrated in the two ads mentioned.
It is an apt comparison for anyone paying attention.
