Bogus Atrocity Stories from Iraq Soldier

One of the darlings of the anti-war movement is a fellow named Jimmy Massey who served as a Marine in Iraq, and has been on the lecture circuit telling stories of atrocities committed by American soldiers.

Except, according to an investigation in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, his stories don’t add up. Not only have his accounts changed over time, but when the facts are checked, they don’t hold up.

This is not new. During the Vietnam War, a whole traveling road show of former soldiers told stories to rapt anti-war audiences. There too, most didn’t check out.
