Who is "us"? How many personalities do you have? Hope one of them has at least a passing familiarity with workplace law, harassment and behavior that contributes to a "hostile work environment."

Professor McAdams:

Do yourself a favor and get out of there now. You are clearly within your rights and ethically on the straight and narrow. The problem is your university is so corrupted by notions of identity politics, diversity and politically correct speech it cannot be saved. If the senior faculty panel unanimously went along with this Kafkaesque madness and that outrage was ultimately confirmed by the administration what possible hope do you have that you can effect change at this small-minded private institution? You are out of appeals, so to speak. I say this not as a conservative but as a practicing progressive attorney who watches in dismay at the assault on free speech by those who should cherish it the most. Godspeed and don't let the bastards get you down.

Does calling a student a "homophobe" create a hostile learning environment?

Or do you think people who oppose gay marriage deserve to be demeaned and derided by their professors?

There is a cultural genocide going on against Christians - nowhere more actively than at Marquette.

Would Marquette have responded differently if you had posted the sentiments, name and contact of the student who recorded the conversation on a liberal blog?

A question or two: How did the university's position go from termination to suspension? I am told that a faculty appeals panel made that recommendation but also thought they found your termination was made without due process and thus improper under university rules. Does that mean suspension is the "consolation" prize? And why didn't the dean announce the suspension?

I hope that it will all end up in a real court as opposed to a kangaroo court. Then we can possibly find the actual rationale, and begin to put together who said what, and when. I hope the original student whose viewpoint was shuttered will appear as a material witness.

Abbatoir means slaughterhouse in French.

Thank you for taking a courageous stand for what is right, for liberty, and for academic integrity, Dr. McAdams. You are in my prayers!

Dear Dr. McAdams:

Thank you for your moral courage in defending a student who was bullied academically for upholding man-woman marriage. I am sorry that you and others are facing persecution for fostering true academic freedom. How ironic that this should happen at a Catholic university that has a Joan of Arc Chapel! I hope that the Lord will repay any losses that you may sustain because of your integrity.

Here is a poem that I wrote about St. Joan:

JOAN OF ORLEANS

Change your cry into a song,
Your fear into a prayer.
Let your mind rest on the Word.
Choose patience, not despair.

Turn shame into a beacon.
The scorching is a flame
That scorns the inquisition
And blamelessness proclaims.

Let agony refine you.
Let ashes renovate.
Be born again in beauty.
Your duty consecrate.

Forgive the brutal torches.
Forget the stenching blaze.
The Lord of Wounds and Bruises
Will heal you with one gaze.

Go beyond your pain to His.
Wipe away His drops.
Hold the hand that He extends
Until the terror stops.

Sincerely,

Cynthia L. Hallen

What a joke this administration is. And people wonder why Trump is going to be the next POTUS.
