More Mischief From Google Ads

The blog Anno Domini is rather conservative on matters of sexuality, and indeed at this moment the top post is titled “More Biased Media Coverage on the Science of Homosexuality.”

But just a few minites ago when we hit the page, we found the following two ads displayed side-by-side above the article.

There are certainly some single Republicans who are gays and lesbians, and perhaps a few who need drug rehab and want to go to the beach for it. For the most part, however, readers will probably be interested in one of the ads, and not the other.

So what is going on here? Nothing sinister. Google places its ads by simply looking for keywords on blogs where the blogger has indicated a willingness to display ads. It’s pretty dumb, actually. We’ve noted this before.

Blogger Brian Hagedorn probably isn’t even embarrassed by this. While he opposes gay marriage, he probably believes that gays who are addicted should go into rehab, and may have no objection to this being at the beach!

We are quite confident he has no objection to Republicans.
