Campus Free Speech Warriors

In response to a Facebook post of ours, another person posted a message about organizations that work to protect free speech on campus, and particularly protect Christians (who are the most frequently attached group). We wholeheartedly endorse all the groups mentioned, and urge anybody able to contribute to do so.

Our post concerned a “training” module that explicitly told students that speech, even if protected by the First Amendment, is forbidden if some aggrieved person objects.

That notion would not hold up in court, but most people at most universities will allow their speech to be chilled, rather than make an issue of the repression.

But if they are willing to fight the repression, the Alliance Defending Liberty, the Thomas Moore Society, and the Beckett Fund for Religious Liberty will be their allies.
