Online Petition about Dental School Student Blogger
Online now: a petition to protest the Marquette Dental School’s treatment of a student who posted some controversial remarks on his personal blog.
This has been endorsed by a large number of Milwaukee student blogs, and quite a few other blogs as well. Ryan Alexander of the 1832 Blog took the lead on this.
Key thing to remember: you don’t have to be a member of the Marquette community to sign the petition. Marquette is, in fact a “public” institution -- not in the sense of being owned and run by government, but in the sense of being a highly visible institution that claims to promote the public interest.
So everybody has a right to their opinion in this issue.
